English Pear and Freesia continues to be a popular classic. So much so that Jo Malone London are celebrating this much loved scent, and there isn't a better time to revisit this orchard inspired delight as we transition from Summer to Autumn.
I myself have been a longer term fan of English Pear & Freesia. It's name relays a fruity floral, but this betrays a scent that has much more depth...
The opening is fun and innocently flirty, pear, almost sensual with it's juicy fruit note. An innocent kiss of freesia keeps the flirtation chaste. But what is romance without a little seduction? Patchouli adds earthy woods adding to the sensuality along with an unexpected depth to what could have been quite a frivolous blend.
"Orchards awash with golden sunshine. The sensuous freshness of just-ripe pears wrapped in a bouquet of cool white freesias, their unmistakeable blooms radiating innocence and a delicate touch. Mellowed by amber, patchouli and woods."
Tops notes of King William Pears and quince are enveloped with a heart of white freesias and wild rose. The base is patchouli, amber, white musk and rhubarb.
